Chandra and Jon

This couple was a AWESOME! I met them thru their wedding planner, Nicole and Verge Events.
Their wedding was at the beautiful Lake Lure Inn & Spa. I enjoyed shooting the mountains and the beach at the same time.
Here are some of the things that I never want to forget about this wedding:
1. The way Chandra’s Mother helped her get ready before the wedding
2. Their dog, Jack
3. Their re-inactment of the Dirty Dancing scene where Patrick Swayze lifts ‘baby’ up in the air. This was unexpected, and I caught it on HD video. Stay tuned folks!
Best wishes and much love to you and your fun family/friends.

Blog Archives

Out with the old and in with the new! It has been an amazing journey to develop my new custom website.
I felt the need to create a fresh prospective and display the connections that I have with my clients. I understand that my past blog posts may
provide some interest for potential clients to view, and for previous clients to re-live so I have decided to make my old blog site available.

Charlotte turns ONE!

I loved this ‘owl-themed’ first birthday party for my long-time clients, the Emersons. If you would like to view my 6-year history with this couple, you can visit my website and click on the “Journey” tab, then click on “The Emerson Family”
The details of this party were exquisite, complete with the tastiest cupcakes from Sisters McMullin.
There were over 50 guests at the party. I think the owl pinata was the BIG hit among all of the little ones. I saw some of my past clients and was able to photograph them having a blast at this memorable event.
As I left the party, I couldn’t help but be a little emotional. The “First Year” sessions had come to an end, and now what. Only time will tell…
All of my love and best wishes to Stephanie and Austin, and baby Charlotte.

Hello All, Ian here… A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to travel to the Riviera Maya, Mexico to shoot Dave and Tarah’s beautiful wedding. I can’t begin to tell you how sweet of a couple they are. Dave and Tarah and their friends and family truly welcomed me and really treated me like family! I was in Mexico for a week covering everything they did during the week.

Monday night Dave and Tarah had a welcome party for all the guests followed by dinner at one of the many restaurants at the resort. On Tuesday we loaded up on a bus and took an hour or so drive to the Mayan Ruins of Tulum. Despite the blistering heat it was absolutely beautiful and we all had a blast. On the way back to the resort we made a stop in the city of Playa del Carmen for some retail therapy and much needed food! It was very amusing watching Tarah barter with the locals for deals.

Wednesday was Wedding Day! 2 hours before the wedding it was pouring down rain and there was even talk about moving the wedding inside… Luckily for everyone the weather cleared and they had stunning weather for their special day! The ceremony took place in a garden overlooking the ocean, followed by cocktail hour and reception on a terrace by the beach…can you get any better than that?!

On Thursday, I probably had the most fun shooting that I have ever had. We traveled an hour south to an underground cenote to do a Trash The Dress Session.

Dave and Tarah, thank you so much for welcoming me into your family! You guys are so much more than clients, I consider you all friends.

It’s fun to fuse our images with small snip-its of HD video. Check out this Slideshow Montage. It really sums up the beauty and emotion of the day. Congratulations Rachel and Steven!

I really enjoyed this laid back wedding that was full of amazing details and design by Nicole at Verge Events. Rachel and Steven were so much fun to photograph. There were times throughout the day when I would catch myself thinking about the beauty of this event. It wasn’t just a gorgeous day, but it was the moments between the minutes that were at the heart of their wedding day. I loved how Rachel’s Dad held on to her before he gave her away, and joked with her. I loved how Steven couldn’t stop smiling and how he couldn’t stop telling Rachel how beautiful she was. I loved how her Mother was every place that Rachel needed her to be. I loved the laughter and the emotion.

The food was provided by the talented staff at The Colorful Palate. It was great to work with them, as always.
