Tait and Hunter

Ian here again…

What I love about photography more than anything is telling a story through my lens. Some people call us photographers but I like to think of us as visual story tellers. I was lucky enough to tell Hunter and Taits story at Camp Merrie-Woode in Cashiers North Carolina a few weeks ago. Camp Merrie-Woode was absolutely beautiful and you couldn’t not have asked for better weather!

The day was full of family, friends and lots of laughter and you could really feel the love that Hunter and Tait have for each other. Thank you guys for allowing me to be a part of your special day, I hope you enjoy the slideshow below!

I really enjoyed capturing all of the fab details that Jennifer thought of for her gorgeous wedding. She was creative with the table decor and added her own touch to every aspect of the wedding. Events with a personal ‘feel’ are so much fun. As the guests walked into the Pavilion they signed a sweet note to the Jennifer and Joe that ‘floated’ on the limbs of a decorative tree. I loved the ‘woodsy’ feel of it all.

Things I will never forget about this day:
The connection between a bride and her Mother can be one of the most emotional things I photograph.
Being emotionally available is one of the most important things that I do to create truly real moments in photographs.
The words of Joe’s Dad: “We have so much to be happy about this day, and every day, for love surrounds us.”
How the wind blew briskly, but I never felt cold.

There were so many wonderful things about Shannon and Michael. When I arrived at their suite at the Grove Park Inn, it was bustling with some of the most caring, inspiring people that I had ever met. They were helping the bride and groom get ready for their big day. I loved the connections that they had with their family and friends who had come to support them. From the ‘first sight’ to the ‘last dance’ this couple was truly living in the moment. Feel free to view the highlights from their day.
