Christie and Andy

I arrived at the Hotel Indigo to capture Christie and her best friends and special pooch getting ready for the wedding just down the road at Homewood. The weather was perfect for their outdoor ceremony to take place in the Glen.
The details of their ‘owl-themed’ nature inspired wedding really brought a playfulness to the event. It suited the couple perfectly. Jennifer King, with Verge Events, kept everything order and provided design that truly matched the style of the bride and groom to a tee!

Here are the details:

Lindsay and Todd

I received a phone call from Lindsay the day after she got engaged. She told me that I was one of the first people she called because I photographed her best friend’s wedding about 5 years ago, and she wanted to secure me as her photographer for her November wedding date at Middleton Place in Charleston. I loved the southern charm of this wedding, photographing Ginna and Charlie again, and being able ‘go crazy’ with a new location. The trees and history at Middleton Place really gave me a lot to work with. Lindsay and Todd were so easy to capture. I especially liked the ‘first sight’ and images around the Plantation afterwards.
At one point during our walk, we saw a couple sitting on a bench under the largest tree I had ever seen. It was a beautiful setting, and I had to have it. We hung out for a few minutes and used some other locations for a few shots then came back to the bench, only to find the guy pulling out an engagement ring and proposing! Super sweet moments all day, and all evening long.

Sleep Tight Kids Giving Event

Reid and Mary Rose

Today was my true Christmas. Our family loaded all of the donations for Sleep Tight Kids, and made a delivery to children of the Asheville Eliada Home. We were welcomed with open arms as the children picked items that they wanted and needed. I talked to the children about how there were many people who donated items to provide comfort to them. They loved the pj’s, toothbrushes, teddybears and books! As they chose their favorite things, Scott and I stood aside and watched our own two children in the mix. They were helping their new friends load their arms with goodies. What a moment. It was one of the few times that I put my camera down, just to take it all in. I was trying to take a mental image and hold it in my mind for eternity.
I look forward to another year of opportunity to serve the community in this way. All children are precious. All children need comfort.
To my clients, my family, and my friends, thank you for sharing this dream with me.

Barbara and Brian

Barbara and Brian had a beautiful wedding at Lake Lure Resort and Spa. I loved the friendships among everyone involved with this event coordinated by the talented Jennifer King of Verge Events. It ended with Brian’s best buds throwing him in the pool! So much fun to photograph all these moments ‘on the fly.’ Check out this montage to experience the day:)

Over two years ago, I had a dream.

It was a dream that I couldn’t ‘let go’ of and I have spent countless hours trying to make my dream a reality. Kids have always held a special place in my life, way before I had two of my own.

In our family, bedtime is a ritual. It’s a time to laugh, read, and relax together. My goal with Sleep Tight Kids is to give this sense of comfort to as many children who need it. The outpour of generous giving from family, friends and clients has been mind-blowing.
Many of you have given monetarily, or provided night-time comfort items such as toothbrushes, teddy bears, blankets, pj’s. I appreciate you all so much.

The time is almost here for our annual giving event! This year, we have chosen Eliada Charity to receive all of our donations. The children that are being helped are 75% BELOW the poverty level.

If you would like to donate, please send your tax-deductible donation to:
